Our Team
Combining over a decade of experience spanning the classroom, district, and state levels, Grace brings her passion for equitable, relational, high-quality teaching and learning to her role as Senior Manager of Academics at the Rennie Center. A native of Cleveland, Ohio and a graduate of public schools herself, Grace started her career in education as a 4th grade teacher in a turnaround Cleveland elementary school ranked 1,677th out of 1678 public schools in Ohio. By the end of her third year teaching, Grace led her class to the highest student growth percentile (SGP) scores in the school. Her students from her years of teaching are the motivation for her career in education policy, and she maintains connections with them to this day.
Grace’s next step in her career was to champion the rights of multilingual learners and families as the English Learner Policy Specialist for Boston Public Schools, a role she cherished as a daughter of Taiwanese immigrants, a native Mandarin speaker, and a former English Learner. Finally, prior to joining Rennie, Grace was the Instructional Policy Lead at the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), where she led the state’s cornerstone program on instruction and curriculum, the CUrriculum RAtings by TEachers (CURATE) Project, as well as other initiatives around the intersection of high-quality instructional materials and education policy. Grace received a B.A. in English with minors in Spanish and Creative Writing from the University of Pennsylvania, and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
